The University of North Carolina at Charlotte LGBTQ+ Staff and Faculty Caucus is collecting information about LGBTQ+ folks on campus. Selected aspects of the information that is gathered (with the exception of how you identify) will be provided to students, staff, and faculty on campus. Our goal is to demonstrate the prevalence of LGBTQ+ folks on campus and to provide a way through which students across campus can reach out to faculty and staff that similarly identify in their respective departments and units.

The LGBTQ+ Staff and Faculty Caucus End-of-the-Year Event is taking place on Tuesday, April 16th. We will be coordinating with various organizations on campus, including the Latinx and Hispanic Caucus for this event. The structure of the event is still in the works, but we welcome members of the caucus to put forward suggestions on how they would like to be part of this event. Statement on Trans Health Care

March 12, 2018

We, the UNC Charlotte LGBTQ+ Staff and Faculty Caucus, are writing to voice our deep concern, frustration, and disapproval of the decision by the North Carolina Board of Trustees to terminate coverage in the 2018 calendar year for transgender health care needs for employees under the State Health Plan. This decision has resulted in the loss of financial support for medical and psychological services to transgender employees and/or their family members across the University of North Carolina system.

2017 Charlotte Pride Parade

For the 1st year since its return to Charlotte, the annual Charlotte Pride Parade and Festival fall after the start of our semester!  This means that we have the opportunity to march the largest contingent ever in the Pride Parade this year.  The Pride Parade kicks off in Uptown on Sunday August 27th and we have our spot reserved.  If you would like to march in the parade this year please email me at Joshua.bur
